Police Ombudsman statement on behalf of Fiosrú, Office of the Police Ombudsman on the death of Garda Kevin Flatley

I wish to express my deepest sympathy on the tragic death and loss of Garda Kevin Flatley.

His death is a devastating loss for Garda Flatley’s family, extended family and friends and for his garda colleagues.

It is of course a stark reminder of the very heavy responsibility that gardaí undertake in their duty to keep society safe.

My condolences to Garda Flatley’s family, extended family and friends and to the Garda Commissioner and the entire garda community at this very difficult and sad time.
